Scott Westmoreland has been a client and friend of Harvest Productions for many years. In 1996 Scott was a full-time Staff artist at Disney and in 2001 decided to concentrate his efforts in the fine art arena. He signed with Sagebrush Fine art who publishes open end editions of his paintings and licenses to various products (over 50 in all). For the last few years Scott’s main concentration has been on a “Tropical Paradise Series”. The Vivid Colors and Tranquil Scenes of the Tropics have attracted collectors from around the world.

Trends in the Hospitality Industry

In the last few years there has been a shift in the Hospitality Industry. Hotels are being judged by the quality of their wall decor not just the size of their pools. The walls of the industry are going through a face-lift.
In particular, America has become entranced by the home-decorating industry. New home design programs and interior decorating shows have been airing regularly on all the major networks. The result is that the overall awareness of interior design by the everyday consumer has substantially increased. Thus the hospitality industry is seeing that innovative design coupled with artistic expressions bring more profit to the bottom line.
Hotels and restaurants around the country are focused on keeping their decoration up to date and trendy in order to keep their savvy customers coming in the doors. This means more art, more surprising ways to display art and more substrates to print art on. It is an exciting time for the industry and for all of us who are eager to participate in it! |

In December of 1989, Harvest Productions installed its first Art Reproduction technology. It was in my garage, next to the washer and dryer. We knew it was going to create business opportunities for artists’ and their publishers. Over these many years there has been a lot of innovation. We have served our customers by accommodating their needs for many different art products. We have increased capacity; we have reduced cost. You ain’t seen nothing yet! Harvest proudly announces the birth of Toujours. This process is fundamentally different and opens up scads of artistic possibilities.
In the beginning, we could only reproduce watercolors at fine art quality. In 1996 we were able to reproduce oil painting at fine art quality. Today, we can reproduce originals created on metal or wood or glass or vinyl or rubber or clay board or…..we you get the point. We are optically perfect to a maximum size of 60”x120”! We invite you to express your next creation on any medium you desire. Be free and call us for the particulars.
We want to stay in touch. We’re changing every day as the industry changes. Heck, we’re trying to challenge the industry to evolve and we want to reward our business partner...you.

Question: Does lighting conditions effect Giclée prints?
Answer: Lighting conditions are very important to the longevity of Giclee’s. Typically, Giclee prints last thirty years or more with proper care and under normal lighting conditions. It is recommended to display giclée prints under no more than 450 lumens, common in homes and offices. However, prints displayed in direct sunlight or under intense lighting of 6000 lumens plus, are vulnerable to fading.
Whether it is a giclee print, serigraph, lithograph, or an original, all artwork will degrade without proper care. Harvest Productions is continually striving to improve the quality and longevity of printing. I recommend that you treat your giclée print as you would an original and follow the Harvest Care Instructions found here » |

SANJAYA: Performance Artist or Pop Surrealism?
Don't lie, you watch American Idol, and even if not, you must have spent this entire spring under a rock if you haven’t heard the name Sanjaya Malakar. The Idol hopeful recently fooled fans by releasing the following video clip on Will Ferrell’s hilarious website. In the video Sanjaya claimed to be one Bill Vendall, an art student who created the character “Sanjaya” as a part of a larger art installation. The video raised a stir with loyal Idol watchers, and since then Sanjaya has come out saying the video was just a joke. Although the thought of American Idol as the stage for a performance art piece is thought provoking, Bill Vendall seemed like a big snooze next to the real Sanjaya!

Harvest Serigraphy Department

Making serigraphs for over 20 years, Carlos Alvarado has earned the title “Master Serigrapher”. Carlos has worked with World renowned artists such as Royo, Yuroz, Hessam, Yamagata and many more. 6 years ago Harvest Productions was fortunate to retain Carlos’s services. Carlos has been successful in the growth of his department, which now consists of 6 employees, 2 automated presses, 1 hand-pull press, and a U.V. dryer. Keep up the great work Carlos!

Jill has been with Harvest Productions for 5 years, and continues to work with customers to ensure quality and assists in the development of new product lines.
